Choose casters, you need to know more
Many customers in the purchase of casters when they need to know what size. But ask closely, how much load, what kind of installation method, material requirements are not clear. Therefore, as a professional caster manufacturer, our salesman asked more when communicating with customers. There are a lot of customers do not understand, is not a wheel, where so many road. It smells good at last. Let’s talk about a few basic concerns when castor selection.
① Size: generally speaking, the larger the diameter of the caster, the more energy saving, the better the obstacle ability. Casters are usually measured in inches. The sizes commonly used in the world are 2 inches, 2.5 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches, 5 inches, 6 inches, 8 inches, 10 inches, 12 inches and so on. Generally often need to promote, such as supermarket shopping cart, logistics trolley, tool car, etc. 4 ~ 6 inch casters are better. However, the caster diameter is too large to make the center of gravity of the equipment rise, the cost increases, so it is necessary to take comprehensive consideration.
② Installation method: castor installation methods are many, including bottom plate, bolt type, four Angle rod type, card spring rod type, cylindrical rod type, octagonal rod type, welded pipe type, hole top type and so on. Generally available lead rod, insert rod, spring, etc., heavy load with the bottom plate, or directly welded to the equipment.

④ Castor layout: the same equipment, castor installation position and number is not the same, the choice of castor is not the same, the feeling of promoting is also greatly different. This combination of their own situation with castor manufacturers better communication.
⑤ Bracket: divided into directional and universal, the material is generally carbon steel, can be used for various electroplating, such as galvanized, copper plating, nickel plating, chromium plating, spraying, etc., also useful stainless steel.
⑥ Load: the same diameter casters, general manufacturers will produce several series for different bearing, such as light, medium, heavy and so on. A certain safety factor should be given when calculating the load of a single caster. When the ground is relatively flat, the load of a single caster = (equipment total weight ÷ Number of casters installed) × 1.2 (safety factor); If the ground is uneven, then individual castor load = total equipment weight ÷ 3, because no matter what kind of uneven ground, there are always at least 3 wheels at the same time to support the equipment, this algorithm is equal to increase the safety factor, more reliable, prevent insufficient bearing, resulting in caster life greatly reduced or lead to accidents.
⑦ wheel material: very much. Generally UC,TPU,TPR,TPE,PP,PVC, PH,PA, rubber, nylon and so on. It is important to choose according to the applicable temperature, ground environment, push frequency, push speed and so on.
