The difference between polyurethane wheel and rubber wheel

The difference between polyurethane wheel and rubber wheel

Before World War II, rubber had been the material of choice for wheel manufacturing, because the material was naturally easy to obtain, low cost and widely favored by countries around the world. However, during the Second World War, rubber and other materials were in short supply. After repeated research and exploration, polyurethane, a material with higher cost performance, was finally found. The wide application of polyurethane materials not only alleviates the shortage of rubber and other materials, but also makes up for some defects of rubber casters. Do you understand the advantages and disadvantages and differences between the two?

Wheel hardness and resilience

Rubber wheel hardness is usually in 67-75 degrees, relatively low hardness;

The hardness of polyurethane wheel is up to 83-95 degrees. On the premise of ensuring safety, the use of polyurethane casters can not only bear large load, but also have small rolling resistance, and ensure a certain buffering capacity. More importantly, the hardness and resilience of polyurethane wheels can be adjusted according to customer requirements and use environment.

Castor raw material

Rubber wheel: easy to pollution, low production efficiency, raw materials can be doped with recycled materials, there will be odor;

Polyurethane casters: wheel surface requirements are higher, the use of raw materials, no odor, can not be doped with recycled materials.

The ground mark

Rubber wheels easily leave carbon black marks on the ground during use;

The basic chemical composition of the polyurethane material determines that the polyurethane casters will not leave any stains on the ground, even the brightly colored wheels will not leave any stain on the ground.

Resistance to aging

Rubber casters contact organic solvents for a long time, easy to occur swelling phenomenon, tear strength and anti-collapse ability will be weakened; The properties of polyurethane casters remain unchanged and will not be corroded even if they are exposed to organic solvents for a long time.

The wheel load

Heavy duty rubber casters with a load of about 160-230kg have poor crack and tear resistance;

The bearing capacity of the polyurethane caster is about 2 times that of the rubber wheel. It has excellent resistance to crack growth, tear and collapse. Even if it is placed for 7-8 years, the performance is still good and it has good wear resistance.

In today’s industrial castor industry, relative to the rubber wheel, plastic core pu castor, core pu castor ammonia ester, such as castor, the carrying capacity of resistance, abrasion resistance, tear resistance, cutting, rolling resistance and other performance has obvious advantages, its material quality, cost-effective, widely favored by consumers, gradually replace the position of rubber wheel once.
